A WHOLE SITE TO EXPLORE

A natural location for the saumur blanc, which offers colour and flavour. The Saumur Champigny, for its part, could not hope for a better situation to reveal its distinctive qualities.

Note the robust vaulting in the exceptionally wide Romanesque nave and the magnificent collection of twenty-one 16th and 17th century tapestries(undergoing restoration).

In 1614 the pilgrimage was entrusted to the Oratorians. They had an impressive architectural ensemble built in the 17th century: a church declared a "Royal Chapel" and an Oratory residence, home to a school of theology.

It contains a Plantagenet vaulted ceiling, typical of the region, stalls with carved figures, full of life, dating from the 15th century and during the summer, a magnificent series of 16th century tapestries relating the life of St Peter.

Selected for their historical and architectural interest, they have been grouped under the label "Welcoming churches in the Anjou", a guarantee of the interest of the visit and interpretation of the sites.
